The nasty comments. They've started again and as usual, the people are always too cowardly to leave their names. It reminded me of Mahmood. Mahmood wrote to me a few times and nothing he wrote was worth publishing - but at least he was decent enough to give his name, not like the latest clowns with the brilliant comments like "Israel isn't a nation" - um, bud, we are.
Or the "Go back to the US" - not in your lifetime, buddy; and definitely not in mine.
Or "The world stands with Palestine" - wow, so much I can write about that. I wish I could say you are wrong because being with "Palestine" is really nothing to boast about. In a recent survey, as reported by the Jerusalem Post:
In a recent survey of 250 college students across the US, some 86% supported the Palestinian chant “From the river to the sea,” — but only slightly more than half of them (47%) were able to name the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea as the boundaries that the slogan is talking about.
Some of the alternative answers were the Nile and the Euphrates rivers, the Dead Sea—and even the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. Less than a quarter of these students knew who Yasser Arafat was or what the Oslo Accords were.
After learning a handful of basic facts about the Middle East, two-thirds of the surveyed students went from supporting "from the river to the sea" to rejecting it.
So, in short - mere education changed the views of two thirds of the people spouting this ridiculous slogan.
As I read the comments, I realize that not one comes from an intelligent person open to discussion. "Well, it is not your beautiful country. Your country is the shithole country USA.you have NO right to that land," writes another. Oh the wonders of grammar and punctuation...but more importantly, the accusation. I have "no right" to the land.
Well, my passport says I do. The land deed for my home, says I do.
The United Nations said I did on November 29, 1947. The British said I did in 1917.
The Quran, written sometime between 610 and 632 CE says I do ( Surah Al-Isra 17:104 and Surah Al-Ma'idah 5:20-107)
And, of course, Torah and God say I do. Amazingly enough, one low-intelligent commenter posted that "We see all the Israelis protesting against this war." Now that's funny, absurd, incorrect and delusional.
I see unity in Israel. Left and right pulling together. In fact, my left-wing friend seems to be even more right on this than me.
So, I'll keep posting. I'll keep reading the comments but no, I won't be publishing any comments that can't form intelligent arguments based on some semblance of fact.
,
I would add to those who use the claim that this is occupied land belonging to the Palestinians, the whole world in just over 17 days will be celebrating the birth of a Jew, born in Bethlehem well over 2000 years ago.

A Note About Comments and Commentors ...so here's the deal. If you are too afraid and cowardly to publish your name, your comment should begin with a reason why you are posting anonymously. And if you are posting a link to something on Instagram without an explanation, I'm not even looking at it.
ReplyDeleteNick - thanks for your comment - the only one that was worth reading and publishing. To the others that posted - jokes on you 'cause I just deleted them.
To the low intelligent protesters around the world: what would your position be if one of your loved ones had been brutally murdered or kidnapped?
