A Letter From An Israeli Soldier

(Hebrew is below...) This letter is being circulated. I don't know who wrote it but in many ways, it speaks for all of our soldiers.

Dear family!

I don't know what comes from the news and how the situation is perceived by you, I do know what happens to the soldiers here with me who only feed on the news and it is important to me that if you are trying to understand what the situation is then to know everything and not just the bad about it.

I hope I won't bore you, I am writing some points that I came across in the two days I was in the Tzalim area and the surrounding area.

1. The amount of reserves that arrive is more than the company needs.

2. The number of volunteer soldiers is higher than at any other time.

3. The range of recruits covers the entire political spectrum, all ages and all denominations. Just with one.

4. In the half hour we were standing at the entrance to one of the settlements, we received 5 different packages of people just traveling despite the mess and the risk.

5. We are in a situation, where the people of Israel do not stop giving.

6. Despite the chaos and lack of acknowledgment in some places, fighters from all kinds of units here in the area do not stop running from point to point straight into the points where there are definitely terrorists. A healthy and whole life.

7. In the area of the party you can see police vehicles that physically entered the vehicles of terrorists. You can easily see that heroic battles were fought there, about which we will hear more later.

8. Entire teams of soldiers/ZAKA/search and rescue, identify and collect all the spaces in a respectable manner.

9. You constantly hear fighter jets working, always on the attack.

10. The motivation of the fighters is unusually high.

The situation is not simple, the disaster is not perceived. But the whole picture is much more comprehensible, and this picture will not be given a place in the news and media.

Dealing with the media is so important for everything, Hamas has an interest in using these tools to weaken morale.

It is important to know that the discourse that is produced affects the soldiers for better or for worse.

It is important to me that at least you try to look at the whole, consume a minimum of unnecessary content and have the superpowers that emerge from this crisis.

In short and to the point- Am Yisrael Chai (the people of Israel are alive)

משפחה יקרה!

אני לא יודע מה המידע שאתם מקבלים מהחדשות ואיך המצב נתפס אצלכם, אני כן יודע רואה מה קורה לחיילים שכאן איתי שניזונים רק מחדשות וחשוב לי שאם כבר מנסים להבין מה המצב אז לדעת את כולו ולא רק את הרע שבו.

מקווה שאני לא אחדש לכם, אני כותב כמה נקודות שאני נתקלתי בהם ביומיים שאני באיזור צאלים והעוטף.

1. כמות המילואים שמגיעה היא מעל הצורך של הפלוגה.

2. כמות החיילים המתנדבים להגיע גבוהה מכל זמן אחר.

3. מגוון המתגייסים מכסה את כל הקשת הפוליטית כל הגילאים וכל העדות. פשוט עם אחד.

4. בחצי שעה שעמדנו בכניסה לאחד הישובים קיבלנו 5 חבילות שונות מאנשים שפשוט נוסעים למרות הבלאגן והסיכון.

4. אנחנו במצב שאנחנו ממיינים תרומות לפלוגה, עם ישראל לא מפסיק לתת.

5. על אף הכאוס חוסר הודאות שיש בחלק מהמקומות, לוחמים מכל מיני יחידות פה באיזור לא מפסיקים לרוץ מנקודה לנקודה ישר לתוך לנקודות בהם יש מחבלים באופן ודאי. וחוזרים בריאים ושלמים.

6. באיזור של המסיבה ניתן לראות רכבי משטרה שפיזית נכנסו ברכבים של מחבלים. אפשר לראות בקלות שהתנהלו שם קרבות גבורה שעליהם עוד נשמע בהמשך.

7. צוותים שלמים של חיילים/זקא/כלי צמה , מודאים ואוספים את כל החללים בצורה מכובדת. 

8. כל הזמן שומעים מטוסי קרב עובדים, תמיד בהתקפה.

9. המוטיבציה של הלוחמים גבוהה בצורה בלתי רגילה.

המצב לא פשוט, האסון לא נתפס. אבל התמונה השלמה הרבה יותר ניתנת להכלה, ולתמונה הזו לא יתנו מקום בחדשות ובמדיה.

ההתמודדות עם המדיה היא מערכה לכל דבר ועיניין, לחמאס יש אינטרס להחליש בכלים האלו את המורל. 

חשוב שתדעו שהשיח שמייצרים משפיע באופן ישיר על החיילים לטוב ולרע.

חשוב לי שלפחות אצלכם תשתדלו להסתכל על המכלול , לצרוך מינימום תוכן לא הכרחי ולהתמקד בעוצמות העל שמתגלות מתוך המשבר הזה.
