The Elephant and the Hague

Years ago, I heard a joke. It went like this.

A teacher asks her students to write a report about elephants. When they came back to class, she asked the children what they wrote about.

Said the French student, I wrote about the "The Reproductive System of the Elephant".

Said the Italian student, I wrote about "The Digestive System of the Elephant".

Said the Jewish student, I wrote about "The Elephant and the Jewish Problem".

For two days, the Hague spoke about what they considered, "the Gaza problem" and while they spoke, the big elephant in the room was not about Gaza at all. It was about our hostages. It was about 136 Israeli hostage held for 101 days.
