A War Unfolds Slowly on Facebook....

Sometimes it takes hours to understand what is happening, to accept it, to conquer it. Israel started last night with a sense of shock and concern, perhaps even some disbelief. Soon, those emotions turned to acceptance and determination. And, later, to elation. We beat Iran at a war they started - at a time of their own decision, on their terms.

And by today, as we listened to the world, we began to be concerned. Would the pressures of the world and our own loud minority sway the government not to respond? This is where we are now, waiting to hear what Israel will do and whether it will hand Iran the victory they did not win on the battlefield.

9:30 p.m. April 13

Netanyahu speaking now - Israel is strong. The IDF is strong. The public is strong. We are grateful for the efforts of the US, the French, the British.
Whoever hurts us, we will hurt you back. I call on you to follow the orders of the home front. Together we will handle every threat.

Iran and Jordan have closed their airspace. Never mind, I wasn't planning on flying there anyway.

10:45 p.m. April 13

What is on my mind...I live in a country hated by many. A country which is about to be attacked. According to several international sources, hundreds to thousands of drones have just been sent towards Israel...

It is my nightmare - repeated over and over. My children are nearby with their families. My son and daughter arguing about coming home from university. My greatest nightmares.
Over a thousand miles, they will fly to attack us...
Such hatred.
Israel is an eternal people, an eternal land. I say that now. I will say that in the morning. I will say it next week and next year.
Iran does not understand what they are about to do...no one could be that stupid. Are we invincible? No - October 7 showed that we can be hurt.

10:50 p.m. April 13

IDF Spokesperson confirms that Iran has released drones to attack Israel. Israel will alert everyone to any other threat heading towards Israel.
The IDF is prepared to protect Israel on all fronts. But nothing is hermetic - it is important to all citizens to listen to the instructions of the Home Front. I twill take a few hours for the drones to get here. Israel will do what it can to prevent them from arriving.
Stay inside at least 10 minutes after there is a warning. Sirens will give the warning. You have enough time to get to the bomb shelters - go quicky, but carefully.
190 days of this war...a new front opens.

11:10 p.m. April 13

I'm still dressed in my Shabbat clothes...and now I change into...into...what exactly DO you wear for an attack?
I've had time to think. And I've decided to believe. I predict...
Miracles. The God of Israel is hearing our prayers...I believe, with complete faith...that OMG, tonight we will see miracles.
Believe...and watch.

11:55 p.m. April 13

Iran confirms firing ballistic missiles at Israel. Fired a few minutes ago. This is war. That simple. Nothing less
Israel is waiting. Israel will defend itself. And hopefully, we'll shortly have the largest parking lot in the history of the middle east. On your way to India and want to take a break, park in Iran...Anywhere.
Iran releasing videos of the missiles they have fired.
Israel waits...

12:05 a.m. April 14

American forces are shooting down the drones over Iraq and Syria; Incoming rocket fire from Lebanon. Rocket shot down by Israel (single rocket from Hezbollah)
Israel closing its air space; airport now reports it will close at 12:30 a.m.

1:00 a.m. April 14

Residents of the north - Golan - ordered to enter protected areas...and so it begins...

Israel waits...

It's a beautiful night - clear, cool, comfortable. I go outside and I stare at the skies.
In less than an hour, the first drones fired by Iran might get here; ballistic missiles may land within minutes. Israel confirms cruise missiles have been fired.

So far, we are not hearing of any response to an attack that has not yet come but is clearly on the way.
For now - I hear the planes in the air - we are at war.

In Tehran, they are dancing in the streets, waving the Palestinian flag. I have no doubt that they will not be dancing soon....but we will.

The panic that started a little while ago, is pushing back as faith takes over, as belief settles in.
God did not bring us to this land, bring us home at last, only to die.

3:40 a.m. November 14

According to Channel 12, never in history has any country ever fired more than 200 ballistic missiles as another. The combined force of Israeli, US, UK, and Jordanian pilots did an incredible job such that what came through was managed brilliantly and shocked the Iranians.

President of Argentina:
"We express solidarity and unwavering commitment to the State of Israel in the face of Iran's attacks. Argentina firmly supports the State of Israel in defending its sovereignty, especially against regimes that promote terrorism and seek to destroy Western civilization. The State of Israel is a bastion of Western values in the Middle East and Argentina will stand by it against those who seek its destruction "
From Israel - thank you!!!

4:35 a.m. November 14

I'm going to try to sleep. Estimate are that I have 55 minutes until the next wave. I'm not even tired.
As I held my frightened granddaughters, I wondered what they would remember. The littlest one, probably nothing. The other two...probably - hopefully, a memory of being held and surrounded. We were 6 adults and three little girls.
Once we were in the room with the door closed, we didn't hear much - mostly the echoes of our phones showing seemingly endless attacks against our country - from the north to the south.
We soon realized that our city was hearing the sirens and booms from Jerusalem and we didn't actually have to be in the bomb shelter...and yet we stayed because it felt safe and it was nice all being there, despite the obvious fear of the girls who slowly relaxed.
It's been hours of waiting for the next round. Most people were smart enough to go to sleep. I should have but couldn't.

We will see what tomorrow will be. For now, we are grateful - grateful to the pilots of the US, the UK, and Jordan and, most of all, to our own pilots who have been, non-stop, in the air for hours now. And grateful to God, who watches over us. Tomorrow, will the United Nations condemn Iran's attack? And tomorrow, will Antonio Guterres condemn Iran's attack?

And tomorrow, will the world finally open its eyes and see Iran for what it is? A terrorist regime determined to destroy western civilization!

7:55 a.m. November 14

The US is pressuring Israel. For their "service" in helping Israel, they are demanding that Israel not retaliate.  If someone fired 200 missiles at the US, would you expect the President not to respond??????

9:10 a.m. November 14

Let's see how this works... last night was a very rough night for us here in Israel.
Terrifying for what did happen, even more frightening for the anticipation of what was going to happen and gratitude that our friends and army triumphed.
Iran did not miss... we stopped them from hitting their targets. Is not for the US, UK, Jordanian and Israeli airforces, thousands could have died or been badly injured.
In response to someone who posted we should not respond, I'd love to know...what would you recommend be Israel's response?
Oh, and by the way, Biden's demented comment about Iran attacking military targets is insane, inaccurate, insulting, and infuriating. Millions of innocent people were attacked last night, dozens of cities.
So how should Israel respond?

12:15 p.m. November 14

Karma - this is the very definition of karma... According to several sources, a large suicide drone on its way to Israel was mis-directed and crashed in Shiraz (a large city in Iran). The crash resulted in several dead and injured. This means that more damage and death occurred in Iran than what the damage caused by all their drones and missiles launched at Israel combined. Karma.

1:50 p.m. November 14

It's crazy to believe the government might actually listen to the Americans and the voices calling for Israel not to respond. The analogy is an easy one for me...

A little boy goes over to his baby sister and shoves her to the ground and kicks her.
Then he looks at his parents and says, "I'm done. I won't do it anymore unless you punish me. If you punish me, I'll hit her harder."
Parenting advice - what would you do? How would you handle it?
