You Will Not Bring Us to Our Knees

This is Tal Shoham...he was recently released from Hamas captivity and his words are important to hear. They told him to go in his knees, to bow to them...and he refused. He stood, willing to die, wanting to live.

At one point, after being pulled into Gaza, he was taken out of a car. He saw a terrorist jump on top of a jeep and, turning to face Tal, the terrorist screamed at Tal to kneel down, to go to his knees.

And Tal says in the amazing video below:

"I decided in the way to Gaza that no way will I give them the satisfaction to see me afraid. I decided that no matter what will happen, I expect a human standard. So I raised my hands. I don't know if it was in Arabic or in Hebrew, that I will not go to my knees. And he kept shouting at me and I thought to myself...it's not my decision if you will kill me or not, but it will be on my terms. I won't give you the satisfaction to do it like ISIS, ISIS style."

This is the bravery, the spirit of my people. This is why they survived these last 16 months, this is why we have survived for the last 76 years. And this is why we will survive long after those who try to kill us.
