It's Happening Again - that Thing We Promised Would Never Happen Again

 It's happening again...the thing we promised would never happen again...

All over the world, Jews are whispering to themselves. They are thinking twice about going places, asking each other if it is safe.

Jews are being attacked in the streets all over Europe, Australia and even in the United States. Jews are being harassed on airplanes; synagogues are being burned.

It's happening again...the thing we promised would never happen again...

And the pain is unbearable. I'm traveling soon on two business trips and I'm wondering what I will find.

The bodies of my husband's grandparents are unburied ashes from the last time...what will be of the bodies of my grandparents? My parents moved to Israel several years after we came. Their graves are here, in our land, in our soil but what of all those graves around the world...they are desecrating the graves of our people.

It's happening again...the thing we promised would never happen again....

And the children...our children who are about to start a new semester in the colleges of America and Europe where antisemitism manifests itself in ugly attacks - verbal and physical.

And where a Jewish man walking with his child is attacked and beaten in front of her....in Canada.
An Algerian man threw a bomb through a synagogue's window...in France.

A Greek, Afghan, and Iranian were arrested for arson, gun possession, and robbery after two of them threw flammable materials into a synagogue...in Greece.

The culprit of an arson attack burned the synagogue in Oldenburg...in Germany.
A vandal poured fuel on the synagogue's door, setting the building on fire...in Armenia.

An Egyptian national on an expired visa attacked a group of mostly Jewish people murdering 1 and wounding 15 others...in the United States (Colorado).

A thirty year old male shot and killed two Jewish employees of the Israeli consulate...in the United States (Washington DC)

It's happening again...the thing we promised would never happen again....and again, the world is silent...and again Jews are being attacked...again.

Once it was called "the longest hatred" - but now we know it should be called "the eternal hatred". Now we have to admit, it will never end, never be defeated.

They hate us in places where no Jews live, where they no nothing of us...and still they hate.

They hate for what we do - and for what we never did. They hate us for how we talk, how we walk, how we pray, how we breathe.

They hate...those who worship love hate us and those who worship death hate us.

They hate us for what we own and for what we never owned.

They hate us...they always have, they always will.

It's over. The experiment failed. The world failed...again. They will always fail because no matter what they say or do, they hate us.
