Amelia Carter and the Reality of October 7

Amelia Carter was murdered in cold blood, set afire and burned alive. With no warning, no justification. She did nothing wrong. She was a beautiful, smart, young woman who just wanted to live her life. She hurt no one. She was burned alive...what a horrific way to die.

Her death seems senseless, to serve no purpose. Her murderer chose her at random for reasons we are likely never to understand. The world is justifiably outraged. She will be remembered and her murderer will be punished. Her family will live with the agony of her death, and life with the full knowledge of all the wonderful things she will never get a chance to experience. In one insanely cruel moment, her murderer stole her life and her future and left her family forever devasted.

On October 7, Israel had 1,200 Amelia Carters to deal with. Dead, mutilated, raped, burned bodies. Innocent. Beautiful. They just wanted to live; they just wanted to dance. They had so much to experience, so much promise.

We have spent the last 15 months hunting down their killers, their murderers, rapists. They will be punished because there is justice in this world.
Amelia will never dance again, nor will our nearly 2,000 dead civilians and soldiers, babies, children, parents, grandparents, Holocaust survivors.
In Amelia's name, perhaps the US will be more vigilant. Perhaps they will finally pay attention to illegal immigration, have more security in places such as the subway.
In the name of those who died on October 7, we are more vigilant and we will allow no one to attack us. One by one, we have searched out those who attacked us and targeted their military capabilities. In Gaza, we have destroyed buildings from which they attack us, the tunnel infrastructure, training grounds and arsenals - even if those arsenals were stored in mosques, homes, schools and hospitals.

We brought Hezbollah to its knees and in silent cooperation with the army of Lebanon, we are working to ensure the safety of our northern cities so that the residents can finally return, after 15 months in limbo.

We have warned Iran and won't warn them again. We have disabled their defense system. And Syria has toppled, largely as a result of the fall of Hezbollah, which empowered the Syrian rebels.

And now we turn our attention to Yemen. Last night, again - third time this week, nearly 2 million people went running at 4 in the morning to bomb shelters. We were attacked by Yemen - again, third time this week.
So when you see pictures of us attacking Yemen, think of 2 million people who were targeted with a hypersonic ballistic missile in the middle of the night. Think of the 1,200. Think of Amelia.
Her beauty. Their beauty. Cannot be silenced, cannot be erased, cannot be forgotten and most important, we as a world have a moral obligation to ensure there are no more Amelias.
