Today We Lost Hannah

This is Hannah Katzir. On October 7, we was kidnapped and taken to Gaza. Though the Hamas terrorists claimed she'd been murdered in an Israeli air strike following the October 7 massacre, she was among the 13 hostages released on November 24, 2023 after more than 50 days in captivity.

Before claiming she had died, Hamas released a video of her. In the video, Hannah said "I am in a place that is not mine. I miss home, my children, my husband Rami, and my whole, dear, beloved family. I send you my warm greetings. I love you and I hope I will be able to see you next week. I hope everyone is safe and sound."

But Rami wasn't safe and sound. Rami had been murdered on October 7.

Her son, Elad, was kidnapped on October 7 from their kibbutz, Nir Oz. He was murdered by Hamas while in captivity. His body was was retrieved by an IDF Commando unit from Khan Younis and returned to Israel on 5th April, 2024.

Hannah was 76 years old. She passed away yesterday...broken from all that was done to her family. She was buried in Nir Oz, in a private ceremony. Her family and her nation mourn her loss. She is with Rami again, with Elad.

May her memory be blessed and the agonies she suffered be an eternal reminder for all of us.
