Mosab Abu Toha - You Destroyed It All - Just Leave

Mosab Abu Toha begs for the world to rebuild his Gaza. The New Yorker delivers his plea, highlights it, promotes it. He says "we need" and expects the world to response.

He speaks of the children who have missed 16 month of learning...only the children of his nation, not ours. Not the children his people burned to death, terrorized, raped, burned. Not the orphans of our people who watched their parents murdered, pulled into captivity.

Our children too missed schools. Their schools were destroyed as well, as were their homes. They too are homeless, but they didn't start the war. Yes, Mosab, it sucks when you start a war against a stronger, more determined nation that has learned not to trust your people.

And my answer to you, Mosab, is very simple...

See, Mosab, poet who wants the world to listen to his one-sided view, it would have been really good if you'd considered the needs of your people and children before you (or at least they) supported Hamas. It would have been possible to have peace between us then...but now, it's not.

What did you do in Gaza to find OUR children, OUR daughters? When your people pulled Shani Louk's naked body through the streets of your cities, spat upon her? When Gaza gave a veterinarian to operate on a young woman's arm? While another "doctor" purposefully turned Maya's broken foot at a 90-degree angle to her body and it was left that way until she was finally released?

And where were you when they operated on her brother, Itai, to remove a bullet even without anesthesia? When they starved hostages, tormented them? Forced Daniella to pretend she was dead so they could psychologically torture her family? When they came in and stole our grandparents?

Mostly, you did nothing but cheer Hamas on and so the inevitable result of October 7 was the firm and clear knowledge that we, you and me, cannot live in such close proximity. And so one must leave....and that will be you. You, because you were such bad neighbors that you started so many previous wars, and this one as well. You, because rather than love your land, you hated us. And so, it's time for you to fly away to another place and rebuild your lives there.

You didn't love Gaza enough to keep it out of the hands of Yahye Sinwar...so now you'll rebuild in any of the other 40+ Muslim nations, or go to Europe. What you won't do is stay in the rubble of Gaza. Let the land go and it will not only survive what you and your people did to it, it will thrive. It will be beautiful again. You did nothing good in the short time you occupied that land...and you'll leave it in ruins because you let hate rule your lives.

You want the world to pity you and you beg for us to yet again help you rebuild the mess you've made. But October 7 showed us the true face of your hate and the world is done with trying to civilize you. Live with your hate, but leave. Just leave. For God's sake, leave and find someplace to raise you children in sunshine and love.

You've got the world open to you...don't look back...there's nothing left. You destroyed it all. Just leave.
